David Omondi grew up at the tail end of the Gen X era — the last generation to know life before the internet rewired everything. The home front was rough and tough, but they made it. What David carried out of those early years was not bitterness but a quiet, unresolved question about what life was actually for.
In the year 2000, that question became a crisis. Walking home from his uncle’s house, something gave way inside him. A wave of hopelessness descended, heavy and suffocating, leaving him breathless on a dusty path with no clear future ahead and no one to turn to for help. By every external measure, there was nothing to hold onto.
So he cried out to God.
He surrendered his future, his dreams, his hopes to the One who would never let him down. And in that moment, peace flooded his heart, light filled his eyes, and joy welled up from deep inside him. He had a reason to live.
That was not the end of the story. It was the beginning. A new life opened — a community of peers who loved God deeply, gifts beginning to surface, and a hunger to understand what it meant to actually live as a child of God rather than merely survive as a person in the world.
In the years that followed, David immersed himself completely. He entered Bible school in 2003 and relocated from Nakuru to Nairobi in 2005. In 2008, he joined the Kingdom Academy — a training environment specifically designed to equip believers to be effective in their area of calling, with a particular focus on the Kingdom perspective of the marketplace. It would prove to be one of the most formative seasons of his life.
It was at the Kingdom Academy that he met the love of his life whom he married in 2011. Together, they now have three children. His boutique web design and digital marketing agency — built from the ground up — has been running since 2010.
THE RESTLESSNESS THAT REFUSED TO BE IGNORED
2018: When Doing Enough Was No Longer Enough.
By 2018, the agency was running. The family was growing. The external markers of a productive life were in place. But something would not stay quiet.
David began to feel a deep and persistent restlessness — the sense that God was demanding more from what He had invested in him. Not more activity. More alignment. The gifts were there. The calling was there. The question was whether he was deploying what he carried or simply maintaining what he had built.
He prayed. He meditated. And eventually, clarity broke through.
His core gifts are in the arts and in teaching. His wife is a fashion designer, and together they had observed something no one else in their circle seemed to be naming: the fashion industry was booming, but the Kingdom understanding of fashion was almost entirely absent. The world had claimed the narrative. The Church had largely vacated the space.
David decided to reclaim it. He wrote his first book — My Dress My Choice — laying out the Kingdom origin of fashion in contrast to the world’s interpretation of it. Together with his wife, they organised forums training Christian fashion designers to do fashion the way God intended it and produce results that reflected Kingdom principles. It was the beginning of what would eventually become Kingdom Fashion Revolution.
The Gospel is not a private spiritual experience. It is a comprehensive alternative to the world system — designed to be demonstrated in every sphere of public life.
THE PANDEMIC THAT CHANGED THE QUESTION
2020: When the World Shook and He Wasn't Ready.
Then the pandemic arrived.
Business collapsed. The season was brutal — not just financially, but existentially. As a husband and father watching the foundations shake, the weight of it landed heavily on David. And in that weight, he encountered something he had not anticipated: honesty.
The truth was, he wasn’t prepared. And the unpreparedness was not merely logistical. It was spiritual. He watched the enemy’s hand move with unusual visibility — manipulating governments, crippling economies, weaponising fear across populations in a way that felt coordinated and deliberate. And he realised that a believer who does not understand the spiritual architecture of the world they inhabit is always going to be caught off guard when that architecture is weaponised against them.
The pandemic became a wake-up call he is grateful for. Between 2020 and 2021, he wrote three more books — God the Fashion Designer, The Business of Kingdom Fashion, and The Kingdom Image Consultant. He was processing in real time: building a theology of the marketplace that could actually hold under pressure, not just in stability.
And then, while the world was still reeling, God brought him to a verse he had read before but had never inhabited with this level of urgency
“The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” — Daniel 11:32
David made a decision. The enemy would not have a field day with his life, his family, or his calling again. Not because of human resolve — but because he had found a place in Christ that the world system cannot reach. A place where you do not merely survive disruption but occupy and reign through it. That place is what Daniel was documenting. And that is what David has committed the rest of his life to finding — and helping others find.

THE URGENCY
The World Is Shaking. This Is Not the Time to Blend In.
Years after the pandemic, its effects still linger. Promises of future global crises multiply. Economies remain fragile. The world is not getting better by any honest metric. And yet the charge that Jesus left to His Church has not changed — do business until I come.
What David has discovered — in the fire of his own story, not in the comfort of theory — is that there is a place in Christ where the world system has no ultimate power over you. A place where you occupy and reign. Where disruption is not the end of your assignment but the environment in which it is most visibly demonstrated.
By the grace of God, we are living in the finest time in history to do exploits. Darkness has increased — which means those who carry light have never had a more obvious contrast to step into. The just live by faith, and faith is what overcomes the world.
